Interesting! This isn’t your typical Awatere Sauv Blanc. Nutty, toasty smokiness and a whiff of brioche, all wrapped up with a creamy leesy hug. Give it a moment, and classic varietal notes of yellow grapefruit and wild herbs start to shine through. The palate is savoury and layered, with almond and yoghurt notes sitting over a broad sweep of sour citrus and crunchy stone fruit. Lively acidity weaves through to a salty, lightly spiced and textural finish. This is a wine that invites conversation and rewards a little extra time in the glass.
