Dense and aromatic with black fruit, bramble leaf and liquorice layered over cinnamon, raw meat and smoky oak spice. The palate is generous and rounded, showing plush dark cherry and blackcurrant fruit with smooth ripe tannins and a fine line of acidity. Oak is polished and supportive, contributing clove, cedar and a hint of sweet spice through a long waxy finish. A deeply savoury, textural wine that combines richness and restraint, showing excellent craftsmanship and structure for long term ageing. A serious Gimblett red built for those who like their elegance with muscle.
