Taylors St Andrews Shiraz 2021

Clare Valley, South Australia

5 - 93 pts

Deep garnet with a youthful purple rim. The nose is intense and heady, showing ripe black plum, damson, blackcurrant and black cherry compote, layered with black pepper, dried sage and violets. Secondary notes of dark chocolate, liquorice, smoked meat, savoury clove and vanilla.

The palate is dense and opulent, with dark fruit anchored by olive tapenade and mocha. A firm line of freshness balances the warmth of alcohol. Medium-ripe, fine-grained, chalky tannins give shape. Broad yet composed, finishing long on pepper, dark fruit and savoury spice. A confident, generous Clare Shiraz with wow factor.
