Pale in the glass, but big on the welcome with a swirl of wild strawberry, raspberry, and a hint of thyme, all wrapped up in a gentle nutmeg spice. It’s floral, ethereal, and beautifully perfumed. Sour cherry and redcurrant glide through on the palate, lifted by alpine fresh acidity and fine, chalky textured tannins. It’s light on its feet but absolutely brimming with flavour, finishing with a stony freshness and a long trail of baking spice and toast. Serious stuff, but with a cheeky wink. I’m smitten.
